Theme: 13th Annual Winter Social & Art Exchange + Collage Cards!
Join us at IPRC for our traditional exchange of art we’ve made, randomly distributed among the attendees, and fun making Collaborative Collage Cards!
The Exchange
Do not feel pressured into making something spectacular, this is just a chance to gift someone with a simple token of your own expression. You can go with something seasonal or not, again make something that brings you joy and let it bring joy to another artist in the group!
Before arriving, place your piece of artwork in a brown paper bag. Do NOT show anyone what you have made, it is a surprise. That's it! NO fancy wrapping.
During the event: each bag or box is given a number. After all the secret gifts have arrived and have been numbered, a hat will be passed around. each person will draw a number, and match that number to the appropriate bag, redrawing if they picked the bag they brought.
We do not trade the gifts around. We gratefully enjoy the artwork that we receive.
Activity: Collaborative Collage Cards!
Supplies:
● 1 5x7 piece of cardstock, watercolor paper, or mixed media paper
● Colored pencils, pens, paint markers, etc.
● washi tape, paper scraps, embellishments, cutout images, etc.
● glue or glue stick (no gel medium or ModgePodge, it takes too long to dry)
We'll start by writing our own name on the back of our card then adding one thing to the blank card. Then we start by handing off our card to the person to our right. The next person will add an element, then pass until the card makes it back to the original artist.
We can all look forward to a wonderful time. This will be an opportunity for each one of us to socialize and show off our gifts.
Guests are welcome, however it is nice to make sure they have something to exchange or bring something extra so they can participate too.
